Park rangers and tourists alike at the Grand Canyon over Thanksgiving weekend were treated to a sight only seen on average once every few years: Fog.
It takes a rare inversion set up where cold air gets trapped in the canyons and warm air sits above the rims.
"Much better than Black Friday!" National Park Service Ranger Erin Whittaker posted on the Grand Canyon's Facebook page. "Rangers wait for years to see it. Word spread like wildfire and most ran to the rim to photograph it. What a fantastic treat for all!"

Comet ISON dies a second death?
By Scott Sistek Published: Dec 1, 2013 at 10:21 AM PST
The on again, off again, on again Comet ISON appears to be off again. According to Spaceweather.com, Comet ISON is fading once again on their space telescopes.
"Whatever piece of the comet briefly survived its Thanksgiving Day brush with solar fire is now dissipating in a cloud of dust," the site says.

Sunday Update: Amazing Rain Shadow and Snow Outlook
If you have lost your sun glasses, as many Northwesteners do during the winter, you better find them. Bright sunshine and cold, crisp conditions are only 1-2 days away. Cold air will be streaming over our region tomorrow, with only a few pesky snow showers in portions of western Washington. I don't think there will be major problems with the Seahawks game on Monday night, unless the models are very wrong. The big weather story today is heavy rain and wind...but many of you are experiencing neither!
