Region falls short on snow
Many areas around the region have fallen behind seasonal averages when it comes to snowfall. The Cascades into the Columbia Basin seem to be the worst off with some areas such as Wenatchee only seeing a Trace of snow so far this winter. This chart sums up some of the snowfall shortages, the rarity of this winters lack of snowfall and how much snow we need to get back to normal. Looking at the next 7 days it does not appear that any significant winter system will enter the region, so these deficits could become worse as we move into the new year.
