Snow on the Ground means even colder temperatures...

Although a few valley locations are getting some snow from this weekend system, 
the vast majority of our area will not have any snow on the ground this week.  Why 
does this matter?  With the arrival of the cold arctic air mass tonight, our temperatures
are going to take a nose-dive.  But just how cold depends on a few factors.  One factor
 is clouds.  As we all know by now, clouds at night act as a blanket and keep us warmer 
than clear nights.

Steve Sarkisian leaving Washington for USC

The Washington Huskies are now in the market for a new head coach with the news that Steve Sarkisian is bolting for USC. The news is fairly surprising on a lot of levels. Mostly, because it wasn't long ago many had Sarkisian on the hot seat and now an Apple Cup victory later he's upgrading to the USC job. Many also thought USC would land a more high-profile candidate like James Franklin or Chris Peterson.
Regardless, the news on Monday will have considerable impact on the Pac-12 as a whole, including WSU. A lot will depend on who Washington hires to replace Sarkisian. Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports reported the initial short list includes...

SNOW TONIGHT - THEN CLEAR AND VERY COLD

SINGLE DIGIT TEMPS BY THURSDAY:

TONIGHT:  1/2 inch snow or less, low temperature mid 20s. Calm winds.
TUESDAY: Becoming mostly sunny, light wind.  Warmest temperature near 32 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: morning lows in the teens, mostly sunny, afternoon highs in the low 20s.
THURSDAY: the day will start with single digit temperatures, expect mostly sunny skies with the warmest afternoon temperatures near 20 degrees.

Lewiston School Board admits mistake in selecting new board member

 He's calling for Board President Brad Rice and member Sheri Allen to resign... 

LEWISTON, ID - Lewiston School Board members are starting the selection process for a new board member all over again after they admit they made a mistake while interviewing candidates.

At Tuesday night's meeting, board members openly admitted they violated state code during the original selection process when they interviewed candidates and eventually selected Staci Baldwin to replace Brenda Forge, who resigned earlier this year
